Summer is when the MSF team does a deep dive planning for the fall and the next festival(s), and we have been hard at work. While we toil away behind the scenes, we wanted to share some updates to get you as excited for the coming months as we are!
Save the Date! The MSF is delighted to be partnering with the Criterion Theatre in Bar Harbor for a September 12th MSF Pop-up event and fundraiser. If you like storytelling, science (or both), you won’t want to miss this: we’re bringing the show The Story Collider to the Criterion, and you’ll hear true personal stories about science. More details coming soon; tickets will go on sale in the coming weeks.
MSF Founder & Director Kate Dickerson has a commentary in the latest edition of Maine Policy Review, published by the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center at the University of Maine. This issue is all about Leadership, and Kate uses her space to explain why the MSF is necessary, with her article Hidden in Plain Sight: Making Maine’s Science Leadership Visible.
Finally, we’re thrilled to announce that for the 5th Annual Maine Science Festival (March 13-17, 2019) we are expanding to FIVE days of events. More information to come, but we’re pretty confident that our Wednesday evening expansion will be a great addition to the MSF, and will get Mainers primed for the full MSF weekend.
