MSF Pop-up event: Science of Gin

January 18th, 5:30pm. Maine’s own Hardshore Distilling Company will have samples of different types of gin cocktails, each taking advantage of the unique flavors found in Hardshore Gin. Hardshore’s Jordan Milne will talk about how he came to become a distiller and the ways that he used science (and the scientific process) to make a remarkable gin. This is a 21+ event, with all proceeds supporting the Maine Science Festival and Project>Login.
Tickets are $10/person in advance (available until noon on January 18th), $15/person at the door. Drink tickets to sample the cocktails are $4/each

Real Pirates, a National Geographic Exhibition, until January 15th, 2018. Real Pirates separates fact from fiction. This highly informative exhibit features artifacts recovered from the Whydah, a 300-year-old pirate ship that sank off the coast of Cape Cod carrying treasure from more than 50 ships. Originally a slave ship, the Whydah was one of the most successful pirate ships of all time. Learn about history, economics, world trade, life as a pirate, how concretions are formed and the recovery process.
AGES: Good for all ages, although this is focused more for teens to seniors
7 days per week. $15.50 – $19.50. Group rates are also available.
