The CNC is an international competition and celebration of wildlife. Get outside, look for living things, and snap their pictures. Post your pictures and their locations to the iNaturalist website (or just use the app!) by May 5th for your observations to count towards our region’s tally of life. Our goal is to document and identify as many different species around us as we can, AND put Maine on the CNC map!
This year’s CNC is April 26th – May 5th. From April 26th- 29th, find wildlife! It can be any plant, animal, fungi, slime mold, or any other evidence of life (scat, fur, tracks, shells, carcasses!) found in our “city” area. You don’t even have to know what it is! Just take a picture and note the location of everything you find (the easiest way is to just use the iNat app) and share to the iNaturalist website.
From April 30th – May 5th, post to the iNaturalist website any remaining pictures (and their locations!) of wildlife taken in our area on April 26-29 and identify mystery species that are uploaded from our “city”; we get credit for identifying as many species as we can.
Our “city” is just one of many found throughout the world; you can see the full list at http://citynaturechallenge.org/city-list-2019/.
