Matt Ryckman

Matt is in his final semester at the University of Maine as a double major in mathematics and history.  His undergraduate career has primarily focused on courses in mathematical analysis and related areas; in history, Matt has focused on studying the Middle Ages.  Recently, Matt was given the opportunity to combine his interests through a project centering on the history of a 1732 edition of Isaac Barrow’s Euclide’s Elements. This project has been generously funded through a fellowship awarded by the McGillicuddy Humanities Center.  Aside from mathematics and history, Matt’s free time is spent learning Japanese and playing classical guitar.
