Benjamin Sprague

Ben was born and raised in Bangor and graduated from Bangor High School. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Government from Harvard University, Ben worked for the Boston Red Sox for three years, and also taught high school diploma, career development, and computer classes. Ben returned to Bangor and now works at The First Bancorp.

Ben was elected to the Bangor City Council in 2011, and re-elected in 2014 and 2017. From 2013-2014 he served as mayor and is believed to be the youngest mayor in the history of Bangor, and he began his second year as Chair in November 2017. Ben is also the host of a weekly podcast called, “The Maine Show,” which tells the unique and interesting stories of Mainers across the state.

Ben serves on the boards of Good Shepherd Food Bank and the Bangor YMCA, and is the Race Director for the annual Erin’s Run road race. He and his wife, Malorie, live in Bangor and have three children.
