2019 MSF Potential Presenters: Our programming team will go through the submittals and the 2019 Friday Field Trip Day programming will be set up based on their recommendations. The programming team will make their judgments based on a number of different factors, including: type of science/math, type of event, audience, innovative approaches happening in Maine, revealing hidden secrets, diversity of programming from past years, and logistically what we can make work.

If you have presented in the past: in order to ensure the viability of the MSF, your activity MUST BE DIFFERENT than what you have presented previously. If you have any questions about this, please contact participate@mainesciencefestival.org.

Audience, additional information: Our Friday Field Trip Day is open to 7th and 8th grade students from schools across the state of Maine, and will take place on Friday, March 15th, 2019, from 9:00am-1:00pm, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. The theme of the programming is highlighting the science/research happening at companies and universities who are partners of the MSF, showing students what the can strive to be/do in Maine. The number of students will be capped at approximately 500 students.

Workshops/interactive presentations for the Field Trip Day are an in-depth look at science at an particular area, for example: computer coding; an exploration of different science careers (“A Day in the Life…”) with Q&A; an exploration of fitness and nutrition with examples. Sessions should be no longer than 40 minutes.

We expect to have the programming finalized by January 2019.

The 5th Annual Maine Science Festival is March 13-17th, 2019.
