2020 Maine Science Festival Headliner!

2020 Maine Science Festival Headliner!

In celebration of Maine’s Bicentennial, the Maine Science Festival will be shining an even larger spotlight on Maine science in 2020. The first-ever all-Maine headliner event will be a Bangor Symphony Orchestra concert program exploring one of the state’s most treasured assets: the ocean.

The MSF has commissioned Grammy award winner Lucas Richman (composer and music director for the Bangor Symphony Orchestra) to write a symphonic piece about climate change in the Gulf of Maine: The Warming Sea. This piece will have its world premiere at a Bangor Symphony Orchestra concert (Master Works IV: Sounds of the Sea) that will serve as the 2020 Maine Science Festival headliner and a Maine Bicentennial event.
