Friday Field Trip Day
March 20th, 2020
The Maine Science Festival is once again hosting a Friday Field Trip Day for 7th and 8th graders from schools around the state. The Friday Field Trip Day presenters will be creating their programming explicitly for this age group, and they take great care in ensuring the content will be a good match.
As always, the remainder of the Maine Science Festival will have events and activities for all ages, with all but the headliner available free-of-charge. The 6th Maine Science Festival is March 18-22, 2020, and all programming will be different than what is provided during the Friday Field Trip Day.
The Friday Field Trip Day will be held at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor from 10:00am-1:15pm. There is no-cost to attend the Friday Field Trip Day, thanks to our Metamorphic Sponsor *, but schools must commit to attending for the whole time.
New this year: An additional opportunity for your students, we’re thrilled to offer the opportunity to tour the University of Maine as an “add-on” for the Friday Field Trip Day. The UMaine part of the day will begin at 2pm (allowing you time to get from the Cross Insurance Center to the University), and include tours/information sessions about some of the programs at the University of Maine.
We will be limiting the attendance to approximately 550 students. In keeping with our mission to inspire students in all of Maine, priority will be given to schools who have never attended the festival or who have not attended in recent years.
If you are signing up a large group (more than 75 students) we may have to ask you to reduce the number of students attending, so that we have a mix of students from the entire state.
